Call for acousmatic music

The Call for Acousmatic Music is launched with the aim of promoting the dissemination of fixed-medium acousmatic music and supporting the work of its composers. Adora New Music presents this project as a contribution to the new music scene, resulting in the publication of a compilation album. Selected works will be performed at Sala Berlanga in Madrid in spring 2027, in collaboration with Fundación SGAE.

Entry guidelines:

  • This call for submissions is organized by Adora New Music with the aim of promoting acousmatic/electroacoustic fixed-record music through the release of a compilation album. The selected works will be released on digital platforms and, depending on feasibility, in a limited-edition physical format (CD or vinyl).

  • The call is open to composers of any nationality, with the legal capacity to sign license agreements in accordance with European copyright and data protection regulations, regardless of age, but over 18 years old.

  • The works must belong to the field of electroacoustic/acousmatic music for fixed media.Call for Recordings. Works with live instrumentalists or audiovisual works will not be accepted.

  • Each composer may submit up to two works. In the event that two works by the same composer are selected, Adora New Music reserves the right to include only one of them on the final album, for reasons of artistic balance and length.

  • Works conceived in multichannel format are eligible for this call for submissions. However, for both the artistic committee’s evaluation and inclusion in the compilation album, it is mandatory and essential to submit a stereo version. The multichannel version of the selected works will be reserved for evaluation by the committee and for possible performance at the concert presenting the results of the call for submissions.

  • Duration of the works:

    • Recommended duration: 4–12 minutes per piece.

    • Maximum duration: 15 minutes.Works outside this limit may be rejected for scheduling reasons.

  • The registration fee for this call is €12.50 plus taxes per submission, which goes toward covering the expenses derived from the selection process and the subsequent publication of the compilation album; no monetary prizes will be awarded.

  • Technical requirements for audio files:

    • Format: .wav or .aif, 48 kHz, 24 bits, stereo.

    • The files must be free of clipping and unwanted noise; works of insufficient quality may be discarded at the discretion of the selection panel.

  • Each participant must complete an Online Registration Form and include the following documentation, either by direct upload or link (cloud service):

    • Photocopy/scan of a valid identity document (ID or passport) – named with the composer's surname and first name – in .pdf or .jpeg format.

    • Biography in Spanish or English (max. 1000 characters including spaces) – named with LAST NAME and first name – in .pdf format.

    • Program notes for each work (max. 1000 characters per work) – named only with the title of the work – in .pdf format.

    • Audio file(s) of the work – named only with the title of the work – in .wav or .aif format, 48 kHz, 24 bits, stereo.

  • The online registration form must be completed and submitted by September 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM CET. If you are submitting two works, you must register each one separately. Audio files must be submitted via a link to a cloud storage provider with no expiry date (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) For any enquiries, please contact: hola@adoranewmusic.com

  • Works previously performed in concerts or festivals are permitted, but they must not:

    • Having been commercially released on a physical album or a digital label release.

    • Being subject to contracts that grant exclusive publishing rights to another record label.

  • The selection will be made by an artistic committee and invited specialists in acousmatic and electroacoustic music. The following will be considered:

    • Quality and artistic originality.

    • Technical quality of the sound material.

    • Diversity of styles, aesthetics and geographical origins.

    • Overall coherence of the compilation album.

  • The committee's decisions will be final and no appeal will be allowed.

  • A maximum of 8–12 works will be selected to be included in the compilation album. If you are submitting two entries, you must register each one separately. Audio files must be submitted via a link to a cloud storage service with no expiry date (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). The list of selected works will be made public on autumn 2026, by email to the participants and through Adora New Music's communication channels (website and social media).

  • Copyright and related rights:

    • The author retains full ownership of their moral and economic rights over the work, in accordance with European regulations.

    • By submitting the work, the participating person guarantees that it is original and does not infringe the rights of third parties (including samples, performers or producers).

    • The selected individuals grant Adora New Music a non-exclusive, worldwide, and perpetual license to:

      • Publish the work on digital platforms (streaming, download).

      • Include the work in a physical compilation medium (CD / vinyl) in limited editions and possible reprints.

      • Using fragments of the work for promotional purposes (trailers, social media, concert teasers).

  • Data protection (GDPR):

    • Personal data (name, contact details, biography, photograph, etc.) will be collected and processed solely for the management of the call, the communication of results and the promotion of the selected works, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

    • The data will be stored on secure servers within the EU and will be kept for a maximum of 5 years after the publication of the compilation, unless there is a legal obligation to keep it for a longer period.

    • Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, deletion, limitation and opposition by contacting Adora New Music via the official email address.

  • Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions. Adora New Music reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition if circumstances beyond its control so require, without incurring any obligation to provide compensation.
